An Indian semiconductor company with global competence

Twenty per cent of the global chip design workforce is in India. Forty years of experience across analog, RF, memory, digital, and EDA. Over 100 semiconductor startups, two-thirds of them in Bangalore. The talent has always been here. What's been missing is the ecosystem to channel it into globally competitive companies.

C2i Semiconductors is building exactly that. A fabless chip design company specialising in analog and mixed-signal technologies, targeting applications across telecommunications, consumer electronics, and automotive systems. The team brings decades of collective experience in semiconductor design, and they're building from first principles rather than adapting existing playbooks.

Analog and mixed-signal design is a space where deep expertise matters. It's not about scale or speed to market. It's about precision, reliability, and understanding the physics. C2i's founding team has the domain depth to compete globally, and government support through the Design Linked Incentive scheme provides meaningful tailwinds.

When Lip-Bu Tan, one of the most respected figures in the global semiconductor industry, chose to co-invest alongside us, it validated what we already believed. C2i has the ingredients to become a globally competitive fabless chip company emerging from India.

Fabless chip design is a strong focus area for Yali Capital. C2i represents the kind of company we set out to back when we started this fund.

Milestones

Jun 2024

Company founded in Bengaluru

Six power and analog engineers from Texas Instruments incorporate C2i Semiconductors, short for control, conversion, and intelligence, to rethink how power moves from the grid to the processor core.

Oct 2024

$4M seed round led by Yali Capital

Yali Capital leads the seed round, with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan co-investing, funding the founding team and first silicon.

Feb 2026

$15M Series A led by Peak XV Partners

Peak XV Partners leads the Series A, joined by Yali and TDK Ventures, taking total funding to about $19M ahead of first chip returns.

Apr 2026

First silicon designs sent to fab

C2i's first multiphase controller and smart power stage designs go to Tower Semiconductor and GlobalFoundries, ahead of validation with data centre operators and hyperscalers.

Aug 2026

Acquired by Infineon Technologies

Infineon agrees to acquire C2i to strengthen its power delivery roadmap for AI data centres, including vertical power delivery and substrate integrated voltage regulators. Terms were not disclosed; the deal is expected to close in Q3 2026.
